Ghost riding involves leaving the wheel of a moving car and walking, running or dancing beside or even on top of it. Sound crazy? This latest craze to originate and be popularized by the Hyphy Culture is taking the country and internet by storm. Popular video websites like Youtube have hordes of clips dedicated to this updated version of car surfing. Most agree that in this era of on unbridled exhibitionism, ghost riding and the internet were tailor-made for each other. Many who participate in this Hip Hop fad feel that it is simply another form of self-expression. Some do it for cheap thrills, pushing the envelope, flirting with danger. The latter reason fits nicely into another youth cultural phenomenon of performing dangerous stunts and pranks. “Jackass” style.
